Sister hotels COMO Uma Paro and COMO Uma Punakha have partnered with Natural World Safaris and British-American photographer and Kodak Ambassador Michael Turek  to launch Bhutan’s first Film and Photography Expedition from 2nd to 9th June 2019.

The ‘Eight-Day Film & Photography Expedition’ itinerary will give guests the opportunity to experience the beauty of Bhutan and to slow down and engage in the present moment through the lens of a film camera with the guidance of Michael Turek. Michael will be sharing his methods of shooting on film — a medium that encourages photographers to be present in the moment, and to capture their surroundings with deliberation and intention. By slowing down with film, participants will enjoy a deeper and more thoughtful observation of nature and discover a deeper level of engagement with the Bhutanese people. The result being more intimate visual illustrations of their experience in this unique country.

Guests will spend five nights at COMO Uma Paro and two nights at COMO Uma Punakha and will get to journey deep into the kingdom’s heartland to explore three distinctly different but important valleys: the bustling capital of Thimphu with its monuments, museums and markets; the tropical Punakha Valley with its magnificent dzongs; and the emerald valley of Paro, with its rice paddies and ancient temples. Other highlights include walks along winding rivers to sacred monasteries and temples that cling to sheer cliffs faces as well as spectacular drives through mountain passes. The magic light of Bhutan will come alive on treks along forest trails lined with fluttering prayer flags.

The ‘Eight Day Film & Photography Expedition’ runs from 2nd June to 9th June 2019 and starts from USD 7,600 (approx. AUD 10,706) per person for single accommodation or USD 5,800 (approx. AUD 8,170) per person for twin share accommodation.
