Spread the love

At Historic Royal Palaces, we are planning the perfect Christmas. This year visitors can experience the magic of the festive period in some of the most iconic buildings in the world.

From 27 to 31 December 2019, the Tower of London will come alive with fun and festivities. Visitors will be whisked back to 1859, brushing shoulders and hearing tales from an array of characters before gathering in “The Salt” pub where carols will be sung and dances will be had. Discover how our modern impressions of Christmas and the Tower were shaped in the era of Dickens and Queen Victoria.

Kensington Palace will also be celebrating Christmas in the traditional Victorian style. From 21 December to 5 January 2020, groups will step straight into the young Princess Victoria’s Christmas. Visitors will meet the future Queen herself and members of her household as they prepare for and celebrate the season, defined by the trends of her age.

From 9 November to 5 January 2020, your clients will be able to join residents from upstairs and downstairs as they prepare for the 12 days of Christmas at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. The elegant State Rooms will be decorated and lit by candlelight and visitors will have the opportunity to make a seasonal wreath to take home with them! Don’t forget to pay Father Christmas a visit too!

Experience Christmas, Tudor style – from 21 December 2019 to 5 January 2020, Elizabeth I’s court will be celebrating a grand festive season, and all are invited! Indulge in seasonal treats prepared in the Great Kitchens and partake in courtly entertainments at the majestic Hampton Court Palace.

All activities are included in admission to the palaces. Please note all palaces are closed 24, 25, 26 December and the Tower of London on 1 January 2020.

Groups are admitted by timed admission slots at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens and Kensington Palace. For the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace, you simply need to book the date.
