Ski season is in full swing and with travelers still booking their getaways for 2018/2019 it’s the perfect time to look beyond just flying to the destinations and hunkering down at a resort.

Departing once a month, the January 2019 departure features a visit to the world-famous Ice Magic Festival at Lake Louise in Banff. If you’re lucky you can get a view of the Northern Lights. Deluxe Switzerland in Winter

Starting in Zurich, this nine-day tour visits both the quaint mountain villages of Switzerland’s lush evergreen country side as well as the historical cultural centers of Zurich and Bern. Featuring a lake cruise across Lake Thun, this tour journeys along three historic railways. With deluxe 5-star hotel accommodations for the entire duration of the tour as well as a horse-drawn carriage ride in Sils-Maria, Deluxe Switzerland departs daily most days January 5-March 28. This journey includes stops and free-time in Sil-Maria and Zermatt, two popular winter-sport villages with an abundance of skiing options. Alaska Circle Tour Rail & Car

This eight-day adventure explores the stunning landscapes of Southern Alaska. Starting with a full day to explore the state’s largest city of Anchorage, passengers depart aboard the Alaska Railroad to Denali National Park, passing through vibrant scenery of spruce plains, salmon streams, and towering mountains. With a full day to explore the park on a 6-8 hour bus tour, travelers can marvel at Mount McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Departing for Fairbanks at night, travelers can choose from a plethora of museum, trail-hikes and many other outdoor activities with a full day in the Fairbanks. Leaving from Fairbanks to travel along the scenic Richardson Highway, the final leg of this Alaska adventure takes travelers to Valdez, known as “Little Switzerland.” The town is enjoyed through kayaking, river cruises, hiking, and ski and snowboarding, when there is enough snow. Lucky visitors may even get a chance to spot orca whales and harbor seals before heading back to Anchorage for the conclusion of this epic Northern adventure.
