Kenneth Lam has been elected as President of the Hong Kong Golf Association (HKGA).

Kenneth Lam, the Hong Kong Golf Association’s new President.

Lam succeeds Yoshihiro Nishi, under whose leadership the HKGA made great strides in promoting golf to Hong Kong’s wider population.

Lam, who previously acted as HKGA Vice President, said he’s determined to push forward with the association’s plans to grow the number of golfers and increase the popularity of the sport in Hong Kong.

Emphasis, he said, will continue to be placed on the elevation of golf to Hong Kong Sport Institute (HKSI) Tier A status from its current B status. Such a breakthrough would mean significantly more resources being supplied from the HKSI as well as greater funding from the Government.

Danny Lai, the HKGA’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “All of us at the HKGA look forward to supporting Mr Lam in further promoting golf and supporting the development of our talented golfers.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mr Nishi for his contributions to Hong Kong golf.”
