Hoshino Resorts Environment Initiatives

Passionate about showcasing Japan’s natural landscapes to the world, Hoshino Resorts have been working on environmental management to run its resorts in a sustainable way since 1993.

In a bid to reduce plastic waste, Hoshino Resorts will no longer offer bottled mineral water, and will instead provide water coolers in their public spaces. This initiative began at RISONARE Nasu and is projected to expand to every resort under the RISONARE brand by the end of the year.

Additionally, the company is putting an end to toothbrush waste by running a toothbrush recycling program at 30 of its resorts within Japan. More than a million discarded toothbrushes are recycled for use in other plastic products each year.
