“It is a great tragedy that so many women in developing countries die from cervical cancer when it is almost entirely preventable.”  Prof Ian Frazer, inventor of the Gardasil vaccine.

Huma Charity Challenge, the fundraising arm of World Expeditions, is pleased to partner with theAustralian Cervical Cancer Foundation (ACCF) to launch its next Charity Challenge departing in November 2020.  This year, participants will travel to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the National Cervical Cancer Vaccination Program which was launched in 2010.

The Huma Charity Challenge trip combines travel with purpose as participants explore the ancient wonders of Bhutan, a tiny country located high up in the Himalayas.  The journey ventures to the beautiful Pobjhika Valley, where challengers will join locals celebrating at the famed Black-Necked Crane Festival.  The trip also features a hike to Tiger’s Nest, known as the 8th wonder of the world.

Throughout the trip, participants will see firsthand how ACCF is helping Bhutanese women and girls.  Cervical cancer is the leading cancer killer of women in Bhutan, though it doesn’t have to be that way. Through its cervical cancer prevention program, ACCF is helping to save lives and reduce the rates of diagnosis.

With the support of Bhutan’s Royal Queen Grandmother, ACCF has been providing vaccination for every eligible teenage girl in Bhutan since 2010.  Huma Charity Challenge participants are encouraged to fundraise to help ACCF vaccinate hundreds of Bhutanese girls.

“Knowing that I’ve helped protect girls from developing cervical cancer is one of the best things I have ever done. I loved meeting the Bhutanese women and girls and seeing first-hand the impact that ACCF has on their lives.” Annie, Bhutan Adventure Participant

Participants will have the option to choose between a 10 or 14 day fully inclusive trip. Both packages include the chance to experience the Black Necked Crane Festival. For those looking for a physical challenge, the 14 day trip includes a trek along the Druk Path which hosts some of the most breathtaking views in Bhutan.

Registrations are now open to join this trip of a lifetime.  Make the commitment today to save the lives of many this November.
