Hosted by some of Hurtigruten’s most experienced Expedition Team Leaders and experts, our new webinar series takes a deep dive into our destinations and specialist programs. Get a behind-the-scenes insight into the science, nature, history, people and culture of our destinations and the actual expedition experience in this unique and inspirational series.

“If you’re dreaming about your next voyage or have always wanted to know more about the expedition experience, these webinars are the perfect opportunity to learn about our destinations and programs from some of our most experienced expedition leaders,” says Damian Perry, Managing Director Hurtigruten Asia Pacific.

Hurtigruten’s webinar series is scheduled for Wednesday evenings at 8pm, Central European Time (CET), which is equal to 5am Thursdays Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) for explorers keen to join the live webinar. A new webinar will be launched each week and will be available to view on the Hurtigruten website and youtube channel.

The first webinars in the series feature three of Hurtigruten’s most asked about destinations and programs:

WEBINAR #1: Hurtigruten and Antarctica
In this fascinating webinar with Expedition Leader Tudor Morgan learn about the history of Hurtigruten’s Antarctic exploration, what it’s like to travel there, all about our ships, daily operations and landings, the spectacular wildlife, and operating sustainability in pristine areas, from someone who has actually lived and worked on the Great White Continent.

MEET OUR WEBINAR EXPERTS

Tudor Morgan
Tudor Morgan has worked for the British Antarctic Survey and spent more than two years living south of the Antarctic circle. He has also worked with the Antarctic Heritage Trust restoring historic Antarctica sites, and was Operations Manager at IAATO. Let Tudor be your guide as you explore the Great White Continent together.

Karin Strand
Karin Strand is Hurtigruten’s Vice-President Expeditions and has completed more than 140 expeditions in Antarctica as well as exploring extensively in the High Arctic. Join her in our Norway webinar as she shares her knowledge of Norway’s extraordinary landscape and wildlife.

Verena Meraldi
A trained biologist with a PhD in Immunology, Hurtigruten’s Chief Scientist has offered lectures on our Antarctica voyages since 2008. Verena will be your guide as you explore our onboard Science Centres and many of our fascinating projects.
