Spread the love

Right now, wearing a mask is the new normal. Since last month, local authorities in Bali have enforced the rule to wear a mask in public; but unfortunately, accessing masks is still a problem in some parts of Bali, especially for those who are in disadvantaged situations. In line with Hyatt’s purpose of Care, Hyatt Regency Bali has donated a total of 375 masks to communities in Sukawati, Tampaksiring (both in the Gianyar region) and Sanur.

The masks are produced in-house by our associates using upcycled batik fabric. In addition to donating to communities in need, the masks are also available for free to our associates and for sale to guests and visitors at USD 1 or IDR 15,000.

The donations were done on four separate occasions: the first donation in Sukawati was done on 15 April with 70 masks given to farmers, the second one was done on 23 April in Yayasan Mutiara Hati Santih with 105 masks given to disabled children and adults from that orphanage, and the third and fourth donations of 100 masks each were given to the Sanur community yesterday (4 May) and last Friday (1 May).
By giving away free masks, we hope to help our communities stay safe and healthy in all situations.
