Sydney’s thriving west is now home to two new IHG Hotels & Resorts properties with the opening of Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood and Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street. The openings usher in a new era of hotel accommodation with Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood marking the introduction of IHG’s world-class upscale brand to Sydney’s inner west, and Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street the first to open with a Suites offering in Australia.

Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood also marks an incredible milestone as the brand’s fourth new opening in 2020, following the opening of Crowne Plaza Hobart (1 July), Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour (1 September) and Crowne Plaza Adelaide (1 November). From 2021, Holiday Inn will take centre stage with the first of IHG’s 12 Australian Holiday Inn pipeline hotels opening their doors, including amazing examples in Melbourne’s Werribee, Richmond, Geelong and Bourke Street Mall.

Introducing Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood

The 90-room hotel offers a relaxing oasis in the heart of Burwood, including executive rooms complete with marble flooring, generous living space and modern bathrooms. Sure to be a staple for guests this summer, the hotel features a Mediterranean-inspired rooftop with plunge pool and uninterrupted views across the Sydney skyline. Guests will also enjoy the 24-hour gym and meeting and event facilities.

Immersive restaurant and bar experiences sit at the heart of Crowne Plaza’s DNA, with the hotel showcasing three distinct dining venues each inspired by Europe’s food and drink precincts. With Head Chef Alessandro Mandelli at the helm, Onyx Grill is the signature restaurant offering Modern Australian cuisine with an emphasis on premium cuts of Australian meat cooked on a woodfire-powered Zesti and Mibrasa charcoal oven for a touch of theatre and enhancement of natural flavours in the ingredients. For a taste of Paris, the Artisaint Patisserie is a European-inspired marketplace, offering traditional French pastries, a smorgasbord of meats and cheeses and home to daily a la carte breakfast. Up on the rooftop, Skye Bar is the place to meet and unwind with an expansive cocktail menu, share plates, charcuterie boards and seafood platters.

Fronting onto Burwood Road and just 10km from the city, Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood is perfect for business, leisure and VFR guests, along with visitors to Sydney Olympic Park, or those simply looking for a stunning Sydney staycation.

Introducing Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street

Opened in 2018, the 38-room hotel is an outstanding example of a Holiday Inn, and the first to open with a Suites offering in Australia. The launch of the suites product in Australia introduces a new way to stay under the trusted Holiday Inn brand, with spacious suites featuring modern interiors, expansive living spaces, kitchenettes and contemporary bathrooms for extended stays or getaways with the family.

The Lobby Bar & Café is home to a selection of wines, beers and cocktails for the perfect evening tipple, and in-room guests have easy access to the continental breakfast and all-day menu.

As Sydney’s second CBD, Parramatta is the main commercial centre for the broader Greater Western Sydney region, with around a third of Australia’s top 100 businesses now having an office there and Western Sydney Airport at Badgery’s Creek just a 30-minute drive away. Guests will revel in the convenience of Parramatta’s entertainment quarter, shopping outlets and heritage-listed landmarks and parklands.

Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood and Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street are open and accepting bookings at www.ihg.com. To celebrate the opening, guests can take advantage of IHG’s new Summer Sale and experience the hotels with up to 35% off (or up to 40% off for IHG Rewards Club Members) for stays before 30 June 2021.

Rooms at Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood start from $189.00 per night, and rooms at Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street start from $175.00.
