The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) is excited to announce the launch of a new communication channel for the inbound tourism industry.

Inbounder‘ will be the Australian inbound tourism industry’s platform for communication, thought leadership, destination marketing, product innovation, ideas and inspiration. The quarterly digital magazine will connect Australian tourism products with international travel buyers including Australian based Inbound Tour Operators and Online Travel Agents, international wholesalers and the broader global distribution network.

In light of the multiple impacts affecting the industry already this year, a special “Recovery” edition of Inbounder will mark the pre-launch of this free publication to be released on 10 March.

“As the leading industry association for the inbound tourism sector, ATEC’s Inbounder magazine will provide a platform to highlight key issues impacting the growth of our tourism export sector,” ATEC Managing Director Peter Shelley said.

“The start to 2020 has been one of the most challenging ever experienced by our industry, the impact of which will challenge the growth we’ve seen over recent years.

“For this reason we will be kicking off the new Inbounder publication with a special edition featuring stories, strategies, analysis, ideas and inspiration to restore bookings momentum.

“This has been a particularly difficult period for our industry and many tourism businesses are navigating uncharted waters, so our ‘recovery’ edition of Inbounder will deliver valuable insights and business tools to help them reboot and drive revenue again.”

The Inbounder Recovery edition highlights include:

  • Expert commentary from ITOs working in key inbound markets
  • Forward industry analysis by Deloitte Access Economics Partner Adele Labine-Romain
  • Back to business stories from Mogo Zoo and Sydney Melbourne Touring
  • A look at the lessons from other major global events such as catastrophic fires, tsunamis, earthquakes and terrorism impacts on tourism
  • Business advice including crisis management best practice, insurance and risk management, legals and financing.
