As the great debate as to when international travel from Australia will crank up again rolls on – Qantas it seems has the answer.

Never mind what the Government thinks – the Flying Kangaroo has selected October as a starting date. The announcement that Qantas and Jetstar international flights will make a comeback from October 31 was made during its its half-year trading update. The airline declared a loss of one billion dollars by the way.

A News.com report says most of Qantas’ international routes would resume on that date, including flights to London, Singapore and Los Angeles. Three routes – New York, Santiago and Osaka – will return later, with Qantas passengers able to fly to those cities with codeshare partners in the meantime. However the word is that flights to New Zealand are likely to increase from July.
