Central African Wildlife Safaris (CAWS), responsible for running some of Malawi’s most popular camps and lodges in the country’s hotspots, have released their latest newsletter.

It’s been a remarkable month for the CAWS team with lots of excellent sightings had by many guests. In Liwonde National Park, there’s been plenty to see in the bush including two rhinos spotted near the old rhino sanctuary. Guests also had the pleasure of watching two lions up close between Mvuu Camp and Lodge. Other animals seen on game drives include herds of eland, sable antelopes, zebras and oribi, to name but a few.

Meanwhile, Chintheche Inn, on the norther shores of Lake Malawi, has been particularly busy hosting the 35th edition of the Lake Malawi Sailing Marathon. With over 70 participants taking part in this years event, an evening full of fun and delicious food welcomed the guests as they marked the end of a successful event. With the Lake of Stars festival taking place this weekend only 23 minutes drive from Chintheche Inn, the popular spot is expected to host many festival-goers. Throughout August, the construction of a fully-equipped conference centre was well underway too.
