Intrepid Travel has announced their polar program for 2021/2022, which includes a total solar eclipse voyage as well as a Christmas and New Year sailing.

“The new range of trips mean you’ll be guaranteed a white Christmas, while the total solar eclipse of 2021 on the Ocean Endeavour will be unforgettable,” Intrepid Travel managing director AU/NZ Sarah Clark said.

The best viewing in the world for the total solar eclipse in December 2021 will be in the Southern Ocean between South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula.

“We want our travelers to learn as much as possible on these voyages. Our eclipse itinerary, for example, will include presentations from marine biologists, astrophysicists and meteorologists,” Clark said.

There will be plenty of expertise on board all departures, with a photography program that partners with world renowned wildlife photographers.

The photography workshop has privileged access to the Ocean Endeavour’s forward facing zodiacs, which offer stability for photography alongside unobstructed views.

“The Ocean Endeavour is all about the destination. We want our travellers to immerse themselves in the white continent and with no more than 200 passengers on board, the experience is intimate and adventurous,” Clark said.

Here are the itineraries for the 2021/22 polar season, operated in partnership with Chimu Adventures, with early bird savings of up to 25% on select departures:
