Through providing easy and fast access to finance, it is expected that SMEs can be helped financially so that their businesses can continue and benefit the wider community,” said Adrian Gunadi, Co-Founder & CEO of Investree.

According to the World Bank, Women-owned, Women-lead SMEs, or Women-empowerment initiatives in developing countries can’t get the capital they need; they face an estimated credit deficit of nearly $1.5 trillion per current estimates. It is nearly impossible to start or sustain a business without access to capital.

Less than 30 percent of formal small and medium enterprises (SMEs), or empowerment initiatives around the world are owned, run or lead by women. Women entrepreneurs themselves face numerous challenges to financing, owning, and growing a business, including legal and policy obstacles to business ownership and development.

“We are excited that Investree has made this commitment to support indigenous rural women, enabling them through Java Mountain Coffee to offer Alila Resorts Bali a ‘circular solution’ for their in-room coffee, one that not only contributes to the empowerment of women farmers but will also leave a positive impact on the environment,” said Nadine Alexander, Spokeswoman of Java Mountain Coffee.

“This ‘green financing’ partnership with Investree will deliver a positive social and environmental impact to low income rural communities in Bali and Java islands whom are dealing with the effects of climate change.”
