Invitation to upskill and learn more about Sri Lanka with the experts

July 9, 2020 Training No Comments Email Email

Having had no community transmission of COVID-19 for over two months, Sri Lanka is being considered a safe destination for travellers and opening of the border is planned from late August.

The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka is offering Australian travel agents the opportunity to have 1-on-1 online training by real Sri Lankan experts with all participants going in to monthly draws to win a surprise gift from Sri Lanka.

Facilitated by Executive Director, Laahiru Jayamanne, sessions enable agents to brush up on their knowledge and learn more about Sri Lanka and equip them to better sell the destination.

“We’ve moved away from set webinar meetings with multiple attendees, “ say Jayamanne, “we found it’s much better for agents to have a more personalised session where they are completely free to interact, ask as many questions as they like and focus on what is most important to them and their business”.

The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka is a 100% owned & operated tour company approved by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and an active member of Slaito (Sri Lanka Association Inbound Tour Operators).

As an independent travel company, The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka is completely flexible to promote all local travel services & properties and suggest those that are best suited to their proposed guests.

Training covers post COVID-19 entry requirements, health & safety practices while in Sri Lanka, Responsible Travel (environment/community/wildlife), history, culture, highlights, destinations & general travel information such as climate and best time of year to travel where and more.  Sessions are planned for 90mins (by either Zoom or Google Meet) with the option to extend for a 30min product update.

Mark Snoxell, The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka’s local Australian representative stated “this is a golden opportunity for any agent to tap in to local expertise and work out what’s best for their clientele”. “Too often agents clock in to a ‘default’ of selling a cliché cultural triangle, when there is so much more, enabling them to create stunning tailormade itineraries.  Their clients will love them for it.”

The non-stop SriLankan Airlines flight from Melbourne to Colombo enables travellers to fly direct without having to travel via a busy Asian hub.

Discussions are being held with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and it is likely that this training will be officially recognised and agents will be able to claim ‘Sri Lanka Agent’ accreditation status.
