Sydneysiders are curious beings and love exploring. They also are obsessed with coffee….and it’s a mutual appreciation of these two loves that inspired Jackalberry Cocktail Bar and Mr Black to join forces in celebration of these infatuations. The Jackalberry Traveller’s High Tea takes diners on an epicurean adventure that combines flavours from around the world with Mr Black coffee cocktails.

Particularly timely, given the current travel and social restrictions we have been enduring, it’s time for some escapism and to take your taste buds on vacation. The food menu pays homage to a selection of ten notable and deserving ‘high tea’ delights from around the world.

A treasure trove with three tiers of stimulating sweet and savoury flavours starting at the traditional home of high tea in England, venturing on a journey through Europe and the Middle East, culminating here in Australia with the fan favourite lamington.

Journey through a creative collection of gourmand delights, perfectly paired with Mr Black’s adventurous and inventive coffee liqueur cocktails.

Globetrotting flavours:

TIER 1: Vanilla-lemonade and white chocolate, strawberry scones (UK)
PAIRED COCKTAIL: Kaldi Fizz (light refreshing aperitif) inspired by the origin of coffee in Africa. It includes cascara – which is made from coffee cherry pulp – and also an original African aperitif using truly Cape ingredients such as fynbos, kalmoes and naartjies. Also represents the coffee journey from Africa to Italy and then later on to England

TIER 2: Traditional lamingtons (AUS), classic opera cake (FRA), crema catalana (ESP), chocolate & macadamia nut lollipops (USA), kiwi & fruit tartlet (NZ)
PAIRED COCKTAIL: Lost in Translation (full bodied, tropical fruit cocktail) inspired by classic Lamington flavours (ie. Coconut) – complimented with the bold coffee flavour of Colombian Single Origin – together with dry Spanish sherry.

TIER 3: Smoked salmon, red onion & honey-dill mustard pretzel bread (GER), grilled chicken pitta pocket (GRE), spinach and hummus wrap (LEB)
PAIRED COCKTAIL: Hortis (bontanica- cooling digestif with herbal aftertaste and coffee aroma) Celebrating origin of most of the botanicals and their important role in the history of amaro and vermouth.
