2018 has been a remarkable year for serial entrepreneur Jo Burston, CEO and Founder of social impact business Inspiring Rare Birds.

http://www.germany.travel/en/index.htmlRecently named the Optus Businesswoman of the Year for the work she does to inspire, educate, mentor and shine a light on women entrepreneurs, the business was also named in Westpac 200 Businesses of Tomorrow 2018 and Jo was also honoured to also be named in the AFR 100 Women of Influence 2018.

Inspiring Rare Birds was created in response to a glaring lack of women role models in entrepreneurship to show the next generation that it is an option for both boys and girls to dream of starting their own business.

This year, she took things one step further launching an in-curriculum program that teaches secondary students an entrepreneurial mindset to create and pitch a business idea that will solve a problem for industry, society, or both, through her new enterprise, startup.business.

The program, called Young Entrepreneurs Learning in Action, received funding from AgriFutures Australia to run in seven schools in regional Australia.

On November 25, the students who won their school pitch competition will travel to Sydney to compete in a national final as part of the Brilliant Business Kids Festival being held at the University of Sydney Business School to celebrate International Business Kids Day.
