Jonathan Kay has been appointed General Manager of the stunningly located Connemara Coast Hotel.  Originally from the north west of England, Jonathan gained his hotel management experience working for Marriott and De Vere Hotels in various locations across the UK in both general management and group management roles.  Having met and married a Galway girl and after experiencing the vibrancy and charm of the city, it quickly became the natural choice to settle permanently and raise their family.

Over the past six years, Jonathan has enjoyed working as Group General Manager for the Gleneagle Group based in Killarney.  Here he was responsible for operations in the Gleneagle Hotel, INEC Event and Conference Centre, The Brehon Hotel, Maritime Hotel, Bantry and Sheen Falls Country Club, Kenmare.  Jonathan recognises that now leading the exciting and ambitious redevelopment of the Connemara Coast Hotel is an amazing opportunity and one that he relishes.

As new General Manager of Connemara Coast Hotel Jonathan believes there are new opportunities opening up to the landmark hotel “we have big plans for the future and it is our intention to put the Connemara Coast Hotel firmly on the map as one of the West of Ireland’s premier resort hotels.  With uninterrupted views of Galway Bay and our position right on the Wild Atlantic Way, we look forward to attracting more weddings, banqueting and conference business while still remaining as a favorite leisure destination of choice for many Irish people.”

The future is bright for Connemara Coast Hotel which is quickly becoming recognised as the premier resort hotel in the West.  The hotel is expanding its wedding and conferencing offerings to a most positive response. Having been in operation since the 1980s, this jewel in the Wild Atlantic Way continues to provide outstanding service against a backdrop of the most scenic views in Galway.  Connemara Coast Hotel attracts visitors from all over Europe including North America as it is the perfect base from which to tour the Burren, Galway City, the Aran Islands and Connemara itself.
