JSA Has Even More in Store to Keep Your Kids Moving

January 17, 2018 Resort News No Comments Email Email

Weeks of wet weather over the school holidays means many of our munchkins have itchy feet and are keen to get up and moving for the new school term. January 15th signals the start of the new Junior Sports Academy program and with a few new activities in store, the Term 3 line up is sure to generate more than a little excitement!

All of the popularly patronised favourites  still appear on the sporting menu which includes tennis, swimming, trampolining, dance, rugby, gymnastics and soccer. JSA has also added fortnightly Sunday Soccer matches to the agenda, providing the opportunity for players to apply the skills practised throughout weekly training sessions to competitive matches or ‘friendlies’ against other Bali soccer academies. Players who have signed up for the term for at least two of the three weekly training sessions are entitled to participate in the Sunday matches free of charge! All details regarding term payments, members’ and drop in rates can be found in the Term 3 JSA brochure at:

Overcome obstacles you never thought you’d clear using nothing but strength, agility and sheer fortitude with newcomer, Parkour every Saturday morning at 10am. Learn to leap tall buildings (physically and metaphorically) as you move from point A to point B by way of jumps, climbs, swings, vaults, runs and rolls. Evolving from movements based on military obstacle course training, Parkour is a discipline that builds agility, confidence and even problem solving skills as you learn to assess your environment in different ways. The Saturday morning session is open to all levels however participants must be a minimum of 8 years of age.

Based on the ratio of soggy to sunny days we’ve seen over the past few months, Futsal will be a welcome addition to the JSA schedule! Played on a different surface with a smaller ball, pitch size and number of participants, Futsal is an all weather, undercover sport that will take place in the Multi Function Hall at Finns Rec Club – East. It’s an ideal complement to regular soccer as an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces means that players further develop all the skills they require for Sunday’s soccer matches!

JSA have even added a new facet to Trampolining for Term 3. From week one, Coach Tanou will also incorporate the use of Bounce Boards into trampoline training sessions. Strong and sturdy and constructed of EVA foam, bounce boards mean you can jump higher and longer. Double D ring straps wrap over your foot to securely attach the board and all you have to do then is take a leap of faith!

If you’re keen to check out all that the Junior Sports Academy has to offer in Term 3, be sure to come along to their Open Day on Saturday, January 20th. It’s a whole day filled with fun and activities where everybody is welcome to try any of the JSA sports.

Term 3 is a ten week term and discounted rates are available when you sign up for a minimum of nine weekly sessions. A 30% discount is also applicable to Gold and Platinum Finns members with Social and Social Plus members eligible for a 10% discount. For full details about each sport, coach bios and pricing structures, download the PDF booklet for JSA Term 3 from the website: or come in to Finns Rec Club, see the staff at reception, sign up today and get ready to play!
