Leading travel search engine KAYAK.com.au has announced the best Australian hotels from the inaugural Travel Awards, based on thousands of consumer reviews collected by KAYAK and its partners. The winners were announced across four categories including best overall hotel, best budget hotel, best luxury hotel and best hostel.
Best Hotel and Best Luxury Hotel
Radisson Blu Hotel in Sydney proved to be the top pick, winning the title of both ‘Best Hotel’ and ‘Best Luxury Hotel’. Boasting an indoor pool and spa, free wifi, and an impressive conference space, this luxurious hotel is situated in the heart of Sydney CBD and perfect for travellers looking for comfort and class in a convenient location.
The Langham in Melbourne was also a top finisher in the Best Hotel and Best Luxury Hotel categories coming third and second, respectively. Located in SouthBank, the Langham offers a full-service spa and indoor pool, a restaurant and bar and health club.
The results also revealed regional hotels are still a popular choice for travellers, with the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns taking out 5th place for best overall hotel and Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village in Tasmania coming in 7th place.
Best Budget Hotel
For those thrifty travellers looking for the best bang for their buck, The Pensione Hotel was voted the ‘Best Budget Hotel’. Located in central Perth, the hotel offers comfortable amenities, hospitable staff and a great location for as little as $103 per room.
Best Hostel
For backpackers looking for an affordable and value-for-money accommodation option, Alice’s Secret Travellers Inn, located in Alice Springs, came out on top in the ‘Best Hostels’ category. Nestled in the middle of Australia’s Red Centre, this relaxed, quiet hostel offers air-conditioned accommodation in uniquely themed private and dormitory rooms.
