Spread the love

With the introduction of two new kokeshi-inspired cocktails, Zuma invites you to attend their Kokeshi launch event on Wednesday 19 December at 6pm. Cocktails and canapés will be served.

In a unique collaboration with Nido Asia art Space, Zuma partnered with two artists, Andy Yeh and Joey Leung to create a special Zuma kokeshi, Japanese handmade wooden dolls. As part of Geijutsu, the new art and contemporary section of the refreshed cocktail menu, two new creations are launching just in time for the holidays. The Kokeshi cocktail features Johnnie Walker Black Label, becherovka, yuzu, strawberry oleo sacharum and almond, a combination that’s fresh and deep at the same time. The second cocktail, Karami, is sweet and spicy with gin, passion fruit, honey, lemon, apple and chili.

We hope you can join us! Please RSVP at annabel@sinclaircomms.com.

The Artist Collaboration

Andy Yeh is a Taiwanese artist with a diversified painting background, drawing inspiration from spiritual elements. A professional ceramist and specialist in ink painting, Joey Leung was inspired by the metaphor of fish in traditional Chinese culture to create a contemporary form of art. If you’re interested in speaking with Andy or Joey, both artists will be at the launch event.

New Floral Installation

The iconic floral installation in Zuma’s Lounge is also getting a refresh thanks to a collaboration with Kirk Cheng. Named ‘Kokeshi Master,’ the new installation is inspired by the craftsmanship of the dolls. Multiple hanging spirals are made from red dogwood branches which resemble the spinning motion of the technique used to create a Kokeshi Doll. The vibrant flowers embedded in the spirals also mimic the beautiful painting on Kokeshi Dolls. As a floral artisan with over ten years of experience, Kirk Cheng is well-known for his botanical masterpieces and has worked with brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Audemars Piguet and the Venetian Macau.
