Korean Air marked the 30-year anniversary of its scheduled service between the Netherlands and South Korea with a celebration at The Hague’s Madurodam Park, which was attended by industry representatives and Korean Air colleagues.
The Korean Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mr. Yun Young Lee; Amsterdam Airport’s head of aviation marketing, Ms. Maaike van der Windt and Mr. Guillaume Acolas, Korean Air commercial director for Europe attended the event to recognise the anniversary, alongside Korean Air’s regional manager Amsterdam Mr. Yun Hee Lee.
Madurodam is a famous miniature park and major tourist attraction, with Dutch landmarks, historical buildings and cities all built in miniature. There is a miniature Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, where since 1989, the year that Korean Air commenced the route between Seoul and Amsterdam, a Korean Air B747 aircraft model has been displayed which even taxies on the runway.
Surrounded by the impressive miniatures of the Madurodam, guests celebrated Korean Air’s achievements in the Netherlands over the past 30 years and enjoyed traditional Korean entertainment and a prize draw.
The route between Amsterdam and Seoul is an important route for Korean Air, operating 4 up to 6 flights a week with B777-200 aircraft.
Korean Air’s regional manager Amsterdam, Mr. Yun Hee Lee said, “We are proud to celebrate both Korean Air’s 50th anniversary and 30 years in the Netherlands this year.
