After 50 days in caretaker mode, Peter Gash and his team are very excited to announce that Lady Elliot Island will reopen on Saturday 13 June!

From Saturday 13th June, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort will reopen for overnight guests (for travel within 250kms from the Island’s four [4] departure ports – Gold Coast, Brisbane [Redcliffe], Hervey Bay and Bundaberg). Day Trips from Hervey Bay and Bundaberg will also be available with reduced guest numbers.

From Friday 10th July, Day Tours from the Gold Coast and Brisbane will be available with reduced guest numbers.

Lady Elliot Island’s management team are working hard developing a COVIDSafe plan to ensure that all operations comply with strict Queensland Health guidelines. For the foreseeable future, or until social distancing restrictions are lifted, the Island will be operating the resort at approximately 50% bed capacity.

The health and safety of the team and guests is the main priority, thanks to everyone’s efforts and continued social distancing over the past two months Australian businesses like Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort are in a position to reopen.

Island management cannot stress enough the importance for everyone to continue to follow all social distancing, hygiene practices and travel restrictions for each region to assist in reducing the risk of COVID-19 in Queensland and Australia.

“It is so difficult to put into words how incredibly thankful we are for our amazing team! They have kept the resort ticking and the business running over the past two months and we are truly grateful to call them our friends and family” Peter Gash, Managing Director, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort

During the temporary closure the Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort Team have been completing a number of renovation projects around the Resort. They are excited to showcase these upgrades to their guests on reopening.

This has been a challenging year for all of us but it has also given us a wonderful opportunity to explore our own backyard and we urge all Australians to support your local tourism operators.

From the bottom of our hearts, we (Peter, Julie, Amy and Chloe Gash) wish to thank all of our loyal guests and followers who have showed their support for us during this time. We hope to see you soon!
