Feted as Vietnam’s ‘Most Environmentally Friendly Golf Course’ and home to the only golf course in Vietnam to be Earth Check Silver Certified, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF).

Located within the greater Laguna Lăng Cô integrated resort, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô’s 18-hole course is Sir Nick Faldo’s first signature designed golf course in Asia and is the home of the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final.

Adam Calver, the resort’s Director of Golf, said: “Our golf course is truly unique and the course delivers a golfing experience unlike any other in Vietnam. The course design allows us the ability to host championships while also catering to first-time resort golfers.

“Banyan Tree Group has truly elevated the golf experience in Vietnam and our entire team are tremendously proud of the experience we deliver to our resort guests and members every day.”

In keeping with its links-like characteristics, the Faldo Design layout offers a traditional out-and-back routing, presenting a host of varied shot opportunities along the way.

Golfers find themselves on a golfing journey through Central Vietnam’s ancient rice fields with water buffalo grazing along the fairways. They then venture into raw tropical jungle before emerging onto the beach. The finishing holes are carved through sand dunes.

As strategic as it is enjoyable, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô leaves golfers with a unique sense of place in the rustic hinterland destination.

Laguna Lăng Cô is a leading world-class holiday and premium second home destination development in Central Vietnam by the Banyan Tree Group.

The 280-hectare community resides near Lăng Cô Bay, framed by a three-kilometre beach in the Chan May region overlooking the East Sea, an area renowned for its pristine mountainous coastline, natural scenery and proximity to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

“Being the only golf resort to be listed in the Robb Report – Top Four Luxury Resorts in Vietnam is truly outstanding,” added Calver. “We pride ourselves in providing all of our guests with a truly memorable experience and being able to extend that experience to avid golfers visiting our resort is what the Laguna lifestyle is all about. Having the Banyan Tree Villas, Angsana Hotel and Laguna Park Town Homes all within walking distance of the golf club is truly unique.

“Our Banyan Tree Residences are perfect for those looking to invest in the good life. Our seaside resort provides our guests and residences with a luxury lifestyle experience that is hard to leave behind.”

Laguna Lăng Cô is Banyan Tree’s first foray in Vietnam, and echoes the ethos of Laguna Phuket, the company’s flagship integrated resort community in southern Thailand.

As well as the golf course, the development includes Banyan Tree and Angsana branded hotels, Laguna Park Townhouses and spas, private villas and residences which are available for sale, convention facilities and a plethora of recreational activities for guests of all ages.

Eric Lynge, the Asian Golf Industry Federation’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Blessed with outstanding courses such as Laguna Golf Lăng Cô, it’s no surprise that Danang has become one of the golfing hotspots in Asia.

“During our Vietnam Club and Turfgrass Management Seminar and Club Tours in Danang in July, delegates had the opportunity to visit Laguna Golf Lăng Cô. They were hugely impressed with what they saw. The Faldo Design golf course and accompanying facilities are truly world-class.”

Laguna Golf Lăng Cô is the eighth golf club in Vietnam to become a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
