The popular summer music festival, known for sourcing the most talked about established and rising stars, has been taking over the Showgrounds for 11 consecutive years.

Australia’s biggest indie rock band, Gang of Youths, is the main drawcard this year, with the 31 strong line-up also including Grammy-nominated Courtney Barnett, UK soul star Jorja Smith and New York rockers Parquet Courts.

Other big names to have graced the Laneway stage include megastar Lorde in 2014, UK powerhouse Florence and the Machine in 2015 and ARIA award-winning Amy Shark in 2018.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they’re pleased this year will be Laneway’s highest attended Brisbane show.

“We’ve been hosting Laneway since 2008 and each year they bring incredible Australian and international music talent to the Showgrounds,” he said.

“Our venue is Queensland’s home of summer music so many large festivals are held here. On March 2 the popular U18’s music festival Goodlife will take place in front of an expected 10,000 strong crowd and electronic music duo Peking Duk will perform on March 30.”

St Jerome’s Laneway Festival gets underway at 11.30am tomorrow.

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD.
