LATAM Airlines Group has officially launched its new Sydney to Santiago direct route, when the first flight departed at 10:00am yesterday Monday 28 October.The new non-stop flights will operate thrice weekly, with departures from Sydney on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The flights will arrive in Santiago at 9:15am the same day (local time), with a journey time of 13 hours and 15 minutes.

“Passengers flying with LATAM Airlines from Australia will experience the superior design and technology of the Boeing 787-9 … which provides optimum comfort, security and efficiency,” Sydney-based Valeria Alvano said of the service, which will “complement LATAM’s nonstop service between Melbourne and Santiago” launched in October 2017.

The first Santiago to Sydney direct flight landed earlier on Monday morning and was greeted at Sydney Airport. The service from Santiago will depart at 1:30am local time on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Sydney at 6:15am the following day (local time), with a journey time of 14 hours and 45 minutes.

The flight will complement LATAM’s non-stop service between Santiago and Melbourne, which it launched in October 2017. The introduction of this Sydney to Santiago flight will provide double digit growth in capacity year on year from Australia.

“From our hub in Santiago, LATAM’s guests can take advantage of onward connections to 124 destinations throughout South America including favourites Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Cuzco, Sao Paulo, Bogota and Lima.”

Passengers flying with LATAM Airlines from Australia to Santiago will experience the superior design and technology of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which provides optimal comfort, security and efficiency. The aircraft features large auto-dimming windows, dynamic lighting and plenty of storage space.

Passengers travelling in LATAM Airlines’ Premium Business Class and Economy Class can sample an inflight menu that has been carefully crafted by a panel of renowned South American chefs with a perfectly paired wine list selected by Hector Vergara, Latin America’s only Master Sommelier. This allows passengers to begin an authentic South American experience the moment they step on board.
