One Direction may have long split apart, but they still hold a united place in the hearts of Aussie fans – that’s why Madame Tussauds Sydney is asking its sister attraction in London to send the boys down under.

The public plea comes days after the Westminster-based wax museum announced it would remove figures of 1D members from its halls, seven years after they were first unveiled and four years after the heartbreaking real life break up.

Since the news was released, Madame Tussauds Sydney’s social media pages have been flooded with private messages from fans requesting to reunite the group in its popular Music Zone.

“2020 has been hard for everyone and the one thing we know 1D fans would love is for Harry, Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn to get back together. While we can’t make that happen in real life, we can light up their lives by keeping them side by side here at Madame Tussauds Sydney,” Richard Dilly, Madame Tussauds Sydney General Manager said.

“We’re asking our colleagues in London to consider flying the boys to us here in Australia.”

One Direction’s wax figures first made their Madame Tussauds Sydney debut in October 2013 to a screaming and crying hours-long line-up of The Directioners. Their temporary stay saw them fly to London shortly after, where they have remained since.

Fans who want to jump on the call to send 1D down a new direction towards Sydney can continue telling Madame Tussauds Sydney why the wax figures should be reunited in the Music Zone via its Facebook, Instagram and newly launched TikTok account.
