Dr. Shuen Ka Hung, Director-General of Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre, commented, “Each of the competition’s submissions showcase the strengths of works by our local Macau designers. Some participants expressed that they hope to improve their standard of work through the contest, to increase exposure for local design through working with integrated resorts and to build connections. We appreciate that Melco organized a voting internally among employees to increase engagement, arouse interest in fashion design and promote local design. We are pleased to continue working with Melco to support local cultural and creative industries and look forward to hosting more diversified events together, as well as through working with other community partners to promote and support innovative designs made locally in Macau.”

Competition winner Mr. Yongjia Liang, whose winning design will be manufactured in Macau by a local Small & Medium Enterprise (SME), said, “It is such an honor to be offered the opportunity to create a uniform for the Melco Environmental Services Team. I would like to thank Melco and CPTTM for creating this wonderful opportunity for local fashion designers to get creative with the use of sustainable materials to design a uniform that is aligned with the Melco brand in terms of aesthetics, design concept, practicality and comfort. It’s been an invaluable learning opportunity for myself, and I’m sure for fellow participants; enabling us the chance to exchange creative ideas and the opportunity to get to know the practical ins-and-outs of custom fashion design.”
