Celebrity Chef Luke Mangan will be taking a taste of Australia to Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands when he cooks for more than 200 people at a prestigious VIP dinner event.Luke has been exclusively invited to design and prepare the menu for the “2019 Manuka Doctor Necker Cup presented by Metal”, organised by Premier Live and Mehow, where he will show off his culinary skills to some of the world’s greatest sports legends. Along with a dedicated team of staff personally selected, Luke will fly to the British Virgin Islands to showcase his much-loved creations.

The theme will be “Light, Clean and Healthy” says Luke, who is currently working on a dedicated event menu which will include some Hiramasa Kingfish for entrée, organic chicken for main and a light dessert with a Caribbean flavour.

Luke first met Sir Richard Branson when he enticed Luke to cook on Necker Island in 2003 and soon after a great relationship was born. Luke rocketed from the island onto the Virgin Atlantic Sydney to London route, where he designed the in-flight meals for its Upper-Class cabin and has since gone on to successfully launch the new Business Class menus for Virgin Australia.

Yet come December, Aussie Luke will be hosting the crème de la crème in the British Virgin Islands. The 2019 Manuka Doctor Necker Cup is a six-day, all-inclusive, world-class Pro-Am Tennis Event taking place on Sir Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island December 4 – 9, 2019.

ATP / WTA Tour Players and Legends are paired up with amateur teams of all levels, who compete in a fun and spirited tennis competition. A handicapped scoring format makes it competitive for every player and teams consist of one pro and up to two amateurs. Teams compete to win their bracket and earn a chance to play in the Necker Cup Finals to be held on December 8th, before a Charity Tennis Exhibition.

As well as endless tennis, participants enjoy exclusive dinners, networking opportunities and the much-loved water-activities on Necker Island that include paddle boarding, kite surfing, sailing, snorkeling, beach tennis and more.

Organized since 2012, the Necker Cup has raised and directed over US$3,000,000 in funds to affiliated and worthy charities including the National Tennis Foundation and Virgin Unite.
