Sustainable tourism is increasingly influencing the way people are travelling. A recent Luxury Escapes customer survey showed eco-friendly travel was one of the highest anticipated trends of 2019, alongside culturally sensitive travel.
In response to this, ahead of World Environment Day (5th of June 2019) Luxury Escapes is launching a week-long spotlight campaign, highlighting properties that are doing their part to pay tribute to the natural and cultural environment, without compromising luxury.
Live from 26 May, Luxury Escapes will be partnering with eight properties from across the globe to form ‘The Conscious Collection’. Each property focuses on at least one of three pillars of sustainable travel, including environmentally friendly operations, support for the protection of natural and cultural heritage and providing social and economic benefits to local communities.
Each of the eight properties will also be launching two bespoke ‘Created by Luxury Escapes’ tours to Madagascar and Colombia, each with a different conscious focus such as biodiversity and acknowledgement of traditional communities.
