Spread the love

Just as the Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing impresses the capital city of Beijing with its vision to bring more nature and greenery into a densely compacted urban area, this Urban Forest continues to surprise the city’s discerning gourmets with what it has to offer.

An Epicurean Escape

Situated in the heart of the hotel on lower ground, Market Cafe catches visitors’ eyes in an instant.  As another proud creation of world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, Market Cafe’s design echoes the hotel’s concept to foster a connection between urban life and nature. As part of the “courtyard” in the building complex, Market Cafe functions as a subtle extension to the southern outdoor park, gently introducing nature’s charm to indoor space through the escalating staircases from The Lounge.

Surrounded with plants, high trees, water stream and gazebos with pitched louver roofs, Market Cafe extend the invitation from nature to its diners for a “picnic in the garden”, providing a tranquil ambiance amidst the bustle of Wangjing CBD. With an indoor seating capacity of 200 people, including ten from a private dining room, the restaurant is naturally lit in the day from its widows that span across the restaurant, creating the perfect relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy your meal while watching the world go by.

Dining in Art

Not only is the restaurant blessed with natural landscape, but the atmosphere has also been seamlessly blended with a selection of artworks. Stones, streams, plants and wood are the four elements highlights, with each element featured by a selected collection of artworks including the glass, colored resin & color drawing on the wall by Japanese artist Miyuki Takenaka.

Each piece of artwork is seemingly scattered in different parts of the restaurant in random order, but effortlessly connecting the space, nature and people as a whole picture, offering a visual feast to the eye as the cuisinedoes to the palate.

A Sonnet of Delicacy

An all-day dining restaurant, Market Cafe at Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing  serves a sumptuous buffet as well as a well-curated a la carte menu within the restaurant. Resonating with Hyatt’s global philosophy, food is thoughtfully sourced, carefully served by the chefs, just as how sonnet is gracefully composed by writers.

As the restaurant’s helming chef, Executive Chef Derek Liew Yi Leng leads the culinary team of 118 people. Born in Singapore, Chef Liew is an excellent hospitality leader with over 27 years of experience in creating top line strategies, restaurant positioning, food-based initiatives and the execution of top tier services and cuisine. Chef Liew’s creative spins on both international and Asian cuisines will be sure to leave guests with the gift all travelers treasure from the dining experience at Market Cafe – unforgettable memories of flavors and ingredients combined with a sense of place.

As a destination to connect local diners with the culinary universe, Market Cafe sets up four extensive open-island kitchens, allowing diners to have not only firsthand knowledge of how their foods are prepared but also direct conversation with those who fill their dishes up. Just as the name suggests, Market Cafe invites one to immerse himself in a culinary universe that is reminiscent of the bustling food market where few can resist the temptation to spend some time, if not a day, exploring the diversity of both international and local bites. Visitors can enjoy the local flavor from the Chinese food station where Northern Chinese and Sichuanese cuisines are available. Chinese pancakes are prepared for breakfast, and seasonal dishesof fresh and spicy cuisine are ready to spice up your meals. An extensive selection of international cuisines is also here for visitors’ indulgence, whether they are looking for a meaty festival from German and Italian station, healthy vegetarian food from Indian station prepared by our Indian Chef, refreshing southeast Asian food by Singapore Executive Chef, or the seafood delight with freshly imported oysters from France for dinner. Don’t miss out the dessert station featuring a selection of Malaysian desserts by Malaysia Chef to round it all up.

Thanks to the well-trained associate teams uniformed in stylish and specially tailored attire, the undesirable side of food market touring like crowds and shoving is left outside the restaurant for long. What takes place is light music, comfortable seating, and perhaps, most importantly, efficient, uncomplicated services delivered by confident and knowledgeable associates.

Market Cafe, where your epicurean escape captures the true nature’s charm.
