Maui Snorkeling is pleased to announce a new reef-friendly initiative combining Maui Snorkeling’s passionate and loyal snorkeling, whale watching and SNUBA customers with Sun Bum’s world-class sun care products.
As part of the initiative, Sun Bum will become the exclusive reef-friendly sun care product supplier to all Maui Snorkeling tours.
Maui Snorkeling, and their 53-foot, 49 passenger boat named the Lani Kai, will provide Sun Bum’s Zinc-based Mineral sunscreen lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 to all passengers on every snorkeling tour, SNUBA dive, and whale watching trip in Maui. The Zinc-based Mineral sunscreen is free of oxybenzone and octinoxate, which studies have shown causes bleaching of coral reefs and a variety of ecological issues to marine life.
“When we acquired the Lani Kai, our first goal was to ensure that we were the best ecological stewards that we could be and we committed ourselves to leaving Maui and the Molokini Crater in a better position than before we arrived,” said Mark Elmore, Maui Snorkeling’s President and CEO. “Having the ability to work with an environmentally-committed brand like Sun Bum is a tremendous opportunity and we could not be happier to share their Mineral sun care line with all of our customers.”
As an indication of their commitment to reef-friendly practices, Maui Snorkeling has also committed to providing complimentary sunscreen to all of their customers on every snorkeling, whale watching and SNUBA tour that they run throughout Maui.

Additionally, Maui Snorkeling will make Sub Bum Mineral sunscreen available for purchase on the Lani Kai.
