Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced the launch of a new uniform design competition calling for participation from local SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in collaboration with the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM). As part of Melco’s endeavors to continue developing positive partnerships with the city’s designers, suppliers and manufacturers through dedicated Made in Macau projects, to support the local creative industry, as well as to provide a platform for local designers to showcase their talent, details of the ‘Melco Environmental Services Team Uniform Design Competition’ were announced today at City of Dreams.

Melco Resorts and Entertainment’s Mr. Jarlath Lynch, Executive Vice President, Hotels and Food & Beverage; Mr. Donald Tateishi, Senior Vice President, Finance; and the Company’s Supply Chain team welcomed guests including Mr. Lau Wai Meng, Deputy Director, Macao Economic Bureau; Ms. Chan Hoi Si, Head of Industry and Commerce Support Division, Macao Economic Bureau; Mr. U Kin Cho, Vice-President of Board of Directors Macao Chamber of Commerce (MCC); Mr. Choi Tat Ming, Vice-President of Board of Directors, MCC; and Mr. Chui Yuk Lum Antonio, Vice-President of Board of Directors, MCC; plus over 70 representatives from 40 local SMEs to the event.

Mr. Jarlath Lynch said, “The development of local SMEs and Macau procurement has been a key long-term focus area for Melco. Further to our ‘Studio City T-shirt Design Competition’ hosted in collaboration with CPTTM back in 2016, we are glad to continue supporting and promoting local design talent, suppliers and manufacturers through our latest Made in Macau project initiative to create new uniforms for Melco’s almost 400-strong Environmental Services Team.”

To provide a better understanding of Melco’s uniform requirements and standards, a tour of City of Dreams’ Wardrobe Facilities catering to approximately 8,000 employees was also held for SME representatives attending the event. Attendees were shown samples of Melco’s existing uniforms, and the event wrapped up with a business matching session offering SMEs the chance to register onsite as a Melco vendor.
