Melco Resorts & Entertainment is committed to nurturing and developing local talent.

The Company recently sent 18 employees from its Culinary, Housekeeping, Property Services and Table Games departments to participate in the 2nd Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition 2020 (the Competition) co-organized by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM).The Melco team achieved the following results in the Competition:

Gaming & Entertainment Chipping – Second Runner Up

Game Rules & Customer Service – Gold with Distinction

Hotel Services Housekeeping – Gold with Distinction

Property Services – Gold

Culinary Silver

Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President & Chief of Staff to Chairman & CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, said, “We are happy to participate in the 2nd Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition 2020 as a very important skill building program which is key to motivating local people to these skills. It’s good for our colleagues to participate, to learn and also have fun in their profession.”

Ms. Wong Lei Lei, Supervisor of Housekeeping, said, “We’d like to thank the Company for giving us the chance to take part in the Competition. It is an honor to represent Melco and to achieve the Gold with Distinction award in this large scale, citywide contest to enhance our vocational skills as well as to showcase the team’s quality of service, which is always the top priority for us.” Mr. Leong Weng Fai, Duty Engineer of Property Services and Competition participant, said, “I would never have imagined that during my career there’d be a chance for me to participate in such a large scale technical skill related competition. We are thankful for all the internal training and simulation provided to us by Melco in preparation for the event.”  

Ms. Kam Nga Lon, Pit Supervisor, Table Games, said, “I am grateful for the Company’s belief and trust in myself and my teammates. Whilst any competition will have its rankings and results, to me, the most important takeaway is having the chance to learn from our counterparts and develop further skills, as well as to expand our professional horizons.” One Culinary Team representative, local chef Mr. Leong Chi Hin added, “We thank Melco for developing young local talent through this competition. I feel proud to be part of the competing team and am grateful for this invaluable opportunity to benefit my personal and professional growth.”
