Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman & CEO Mr. Lawrence Ho has mobilized the Company’s workforce en masse to support the local community, encouraging all colleagues to care for the community through ‘Simple Acts of Kindness’. Thousands of colleagues will partake in a multitude of volunteering events during work hours in the coming weeks, supporting Melco’s NGO community partners including, but not limited to, The Salvation Army (Macau) Education CenterGaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre, Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service Centre of Macau, The General Union of Neighborhood Macau – Cheng I Elderly Center, SMEs and groups such as the elderly, single families, long-term patients, children and more.

Melco’s ‘Simple Acts of Kindness’ philosophy is based on the principle that little things have a big impact, and each person can do something to touch people’s hearts.

Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO of Melco, said, “We are grateful for the Macau government’s proactive and decisive response in containing the spread of the recent coronavirus outbreak, resulting in zero new incidents for Macau in the last 29 consecutive days. The timing is now favorable for us to deploy our volunteers back into the community, as our top priority is, as always, the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, community partners and beneficiaries. We sincerely thank our colleagues for their eager participation, giving back to the community and embracing Melco’s ‘Simple Acts of Kindness’ philosophy.”

One event sees 220 Melco colleagues designing and creating personalized Mother’s Day cards for the elderly, later greeting them in smaller sized groups and gifting the cards, together with daily essentials such as rice, oil and hand sanitizer. Another Melco volunteer initiative aims to help elderly persons who feel lonely in homes by arranging regular video calls to let the beneficiaries know they are not forgotten, and to bring a ray of sunshine to their lives through this act of kindness.
