Kiroro, a pristine alpine resort in the heart of Hokkaido, is delighted to announce that it has earned top honors from the World Luxury Hotel Awards for three of its offerings. The Kiroro, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Hokkaido, Kiroro Onsen and Resort Pool, and Alla Moda each earned the top country honors for Japan in nominated categories. Offering some of the world’s deepest powder, a charming alpine village along with high-end, mountainside accommodations, Kiroro is the ideal snow getaway for this winter season.

“We are delighted to see the continued accolades from our guests and industry peers for Kiroro’s outstanding accommodations and amenities,” said Hirofumi Watanabe, Hotel General Manager of Kiroro Resort. “We invite everyone looking to get away and recharge during these times to come see for themselves why Kiroro is such an exceptional destination.”

Established in 2006, World Luxury Hotel Awards recognizes outstanding achievement in the international luxury hotel industry across several categories. Despite the pandemic, more than 300,000 international travelers and industry leaders voted for the 2020 awards. This year, in an impressive showing, Kiroro took the top honors for Japan in three categories:

Luxury Ski Hotel – The Kiroro, A Tribute Portfolio Hokkaido – a luxury, ski-in/ski-out hotel in the midst of Kiroro Resort
Luxury Hot Springs – Kiroro Onsen and Resort Pool – A hot spring-fed bath with cedar and stone saunas along with a 25-meter long lap pool that connects to an outdoor hot bath with stunning views
Italian Cuisine – Alla Moda Italian Restaurant – located in The Kiroro, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Hokkaido, Alla Moda brings Italian and Hokkaido ingredients to fresh, a la carte dishes and prix fixe menus, including hand-rolled pizzas.

A stunning, all-season alpine resort nestled in the Yoichi mountains, offers a selection of high-end accommodations, dining and shopping, a variety of outdoor recreational activities and world-class relaxation services. Each winter, Kiroro regularly sees close to 20 meters of snow, one of the most in Japan and more than most ski areas around the world. The resort offers something for everyone with perfectly groomed ski runs, hundreds of acres of tree skiing, a terrain park and dozens of alpine activities from snowshoe tours through the winter forest to onsen in a natural caldera spring.

After months of staying near home, people are eager to travel again safely. For skiers and outdoor enthusiasts, Kiroro offers the perfect winter destination with plenty of open space, outdoor activities and extra special attention to hygiene and health protocols.
