More cruise companies require vaccines

With more and more cruise companies announcing that they require vaccines for cruising, both P&O UK and Virgin Voyages have announced that they require all passengers and crew to have a COVID-19 vaccine before sailing.

P&O Cruises in the UK says all passengers on board their very recently announced around the UK cruises starting at the end of June for the UK summer, on board Britannia and Iona, will need to have had both vaccinations, which is causing some consternation and discussion amongst its guests on a variety of Facebook pages, with many supportive but a vocal minority it appears highly critical using some choice language to voice their views of discrimination.

Virgin Voyages is the first mainstream cruise line to implement a vaccine requirement for passengers and crew in the US, with Royal Caribbean’s cruises from Israel starting in May announcing that all crew and passengers older than 16 having to be vaccinated.

Crystal Cruises is also mandating vaccines, resuming their cruises in the Bahamas, with other companies in what it is anticipated to be a speedily growing list including, Saga Cruises, American Queen Steamboat Company, Victory Cruise, the Globus Travel Group, which includes Cosmos and Avalon, Ocean Cruise Lines and Swan Hellenic.
