Part of its ongoing strategy to help its 400-plus MTA Advisors circumnavigate the challenges many of them are facing during the COVID-19 crisis, and particularly cash-flow, MTA-Mobile Travel Agents has decided to suspend all monthly membership fees until 30 June 2020.

Announcing the news, MTA executive manager, Sara Pearce said the suspension would be held in place until the end of the financial year when the company will review the situation.

“Amidst the chaos of this situation and as a family business, we know it’s important to look out for each other, “Ms Pearce said.

“There is much uncertainty around everything at the moment, most of all when this state of affairs will all return to normal.

“We have stressed to our Advisors we are with them all the way, we are doing everything in our power to help them – they are just as much a part of the family and that goes for their clients as well.”

In an earlier message to all staff and Advisors, co-founder and managing directors, Karen and Roy Merricks described the situation as “extraordinary times the likes of which we have never experienced before and are unlikely to see again in our lifetimes.”

“We are no longer experiencing normal business conditions, we find ourselves in uncharted territory with changes happening on a daily basis, and it is honestly hard to keep up!” the Merricks said in their message.

“But we understand the need to keep the communication channels flowing at this time and will continue to provide regular updates as to the steps we are taking during this time.

“Rest assured, we are working incredibly hard trying to make the best of this terrible situation and while we all know it is going to be tough for a while, we do strongly believe that in the next few months things will start to get back to normal.”
