Makepeace Island, co-owned by Sir Richard Branson, Brett Godfrey and Radek Sali, reopened in November last year after an extensive refurbishment headed up by the interior designer for Necker Island and The Branson Estates.

the next phase in the Island’s growth, Bobbie Murphy has now been appointed as General Manager.  Bobbie was selected due to her wealth of experience including five years as General Manager at Spicers Tamarind Retreat & Spicers Clovelly Estate in the Queensland hinterland.  During her tenure, these Spicers Retreats won awards such as QHA Best Restaurant in an Accommodation Venue 2018, Gourmet Traveller’s Top 10 Regional Queensland Restaurants 2018, winner of Gourmet Traveller’s Best Service National Award 2018 and Winner of  QHA awards Best Boutique Accommodation three years running, placing Spicers Tamarind Retreat in the Hall of Fame in 2017.

Bobbie will bring her unique skill set to Makepeace Island, placing it firmly on the map in the boutique, luxury sector.  Recognised for her focus on customer experience and her commitment to excellence, Bobbie is also passionate about building relationships with the local community to better support the local area and businesses to improve opportunities for growth, whilst working towards zero waste by implementing key sustainability initiatives to improve energy consumption and reduce environmental impact.

A water sports enthusiast (including wake boarding and stand up paddle boarding) Bobbie is perfect to guide guests through Makepeace Island’s array of water sports activities. Bobbie’s favourite part of the Island is its centrepiece, the 500,000-litre lagoon pool with lap lane and 15-person spa. 

The location for the Moët Island experience during the Noosa Food and Wine Festival, Makepeace Island is also host for multi-generation holidays, celebrations or corporate retreats. Its location, just minutes by private boat from Noosa, is on the doorstep of key attractions of the Sunshine Coast.  The island can accommodate up to 20 castaways.
