If ever there was an emotional travel and aviation TV documentary to watch it has to be this one.
My congratulations go to to Channel 10’s The Project and Lisa Wilkinson for this one as she interviewed a crew of laid off Qantas pilots who are now driving buses for a living after having their wings clipped by COVID and who are sticking together and helping each other through the incredibly tough times.
The programme is a genuine emotional tear jerker for anyone, with the former high flyers, who’ve been brought down to earth, describing the sadness of flying their machines into storage and comparing flying an A380 to driving a suburban bus and yet despite being stood down with uncertain futures, they still claim they are lucky.

Thanks for sharing this John! We’ve known Capt Peter Probert for almost 30 years now, and was on the runway when he landed the very first QF 380… Highly emotional times, but the power of this crew, these fabulous folks to press ahead is inspirational ! Just more proof that even in Corona cloud-cover, you can’t keep a good team down!
