Paddlewheeler, PS Murray Princess is back cruising the Murray River in 2020 with an exciting new three-night cruise itinerary, departing on selected Fridays in July, August, and September. The popular seven-night Upper Murraylands Cruise will also make a comeback departing 17 July, 7 August, and 11 September 2020.

“We will make an assessment on the return of our four-night and seven-night Murraylands and Wildlife cruises in the coming months.”

“We will of course be adhering to social distancing and COVIDSafe hygiene guidelines and a reduction in guest numbers onboard.”

The new ‘long-weekend’, three-night, Murray River Restart Cruise travels upriver from the historic port of Mannum discovering historic towns, Australian culture and the food and wine and flora and fauna of the picturesque Murray River.

Learn about Aboriginal history at the amazing Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve – one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites. See the towering sandstone cliffs at Big Bend, while at Sunnydale experience a fun and very Australian Woolshed Shearing Show, followed by a visit to the native wildlife shelter.

Enjoy a guided nature walk at Salt Bush Flat and learn about the thriving ecology of the river and its flora and fauna.  At River View Lodge get up close to the river and its vast birdlife on the ‘Dragon-Fly’ Flat Bottomed Boat vessel.

Onboard sample the delights of the Murray and Riverland regions with a structured tasting of delicious local produce and wines in the Sturt Dining Room.

The seven-night Upper Murraylands Cruise explores the northern area of the Murray River from Mannum to Morgan, before returning to Mannum.

In addition to also experiencing the activities on the new Murray River Restart Cruise ,The Upper Murraylands cruise visits the historic towns of Waikerie, Morgan and Swan Reach, Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre for a delicious lunch and wine tastings, and Caudo Winery for a cellar door visit and tour of its beautiful gardens and orchards.

This cruise also allows guests the unique experience at Blanchetown of passing through Lock No. 1, one of thirteen along the river.

Optional activities, at an additional cost, on both cruises include a Nocturnal Tour in a comfortable purpose-built cart at Sunnydale and the new Dark Night Sky Tour. Take a Dark Sky Night Tour to the internationally recognised Dark Sky Reserve, the only one in Australia, to observe the stars of the Milky Way with night viewing binoculars and telescopes.

A Bush Tucker Breakfast on the shores of the Murray River at Big Bend is also offered on The Upper Murraylands cruise.

Onboard the Murray Princess take in the ever-changing picturesque river scenery on the top sun deck or in one of two air-conditioned paddlewheel lounges where the working paddle wheel can be seen through a spectacular two-story glass window.

Food is a highlight of the cruise. Indulge in a la carte hot breakfast each morning, a delicious two-course lunch each day and a three-course dinner each evening. Both cruises also include an Aussie-style barbecue dinner and bush dance on the riverbank and a complimentary pre-dinner drinks with Officers on the final night.

The three-night Murray River Restart Cruise departs Mannum 10 and 31 July, 21 and 28 August and 4 and 18 September 2020. Early booking saver (EBS) fares start from $836 per person, twin share.

The seven-night Upper Murraylands Cruise departs 17 July, 7 August, and 11 September 2020. EBS Fares start from $1984 per person, twin share.

All fares include accommodation, all meals, guided nature walks, eco-excursions, onboard presentations, use of the ship’s facilities including sun deck, bar, two lounges, dining room and scenic coach transfers from Adelaide CBD to Mannum and Mannum to Adelaide CBD or Adelaide Airport, or secure car-parking in Mannum.

Private car transfers for up to four people are also available from and to Adelaide CBD to Mannum and return to Adelaide Airport for $150 per person each way, based on two people travelling.
