Oceania Cruises, the world’s leading culinary and destination-focused cruise line, today welcomes the recently refurbished Regatta to Australia. Now the cruise line’s second largest global market, she will sail a variety of itineraries within our region over the next few months.

Following in the footsteps of her sister ships, Insignia and SirenaRegatta has undergone a dramatic rejuvenation as part of the cruise line’s OceaniaNEXT initiative that encompasses the inimitable style and comfort for which the brand is renowned.

OceaniaNEXT encompasses the most comprehensive suite of product and guest service enhancements that the brand has ever undertaken, kickstarted in 2018 with a USD$100 million investment to completely transform its four most intimate 684-guest R-class vessels.

Emerging from drydock on 22nd September 2019, Regatta has made her way to local waters via the South Pacific as part of her repositioning cruise. After cruising New Caledonian waters, she visits Brisbane today before reaching Sydney on 6th December, giving guests and trade partners a firsthand opportunity to experience the refurbished ship.

Highlights of Regatta’s re-inspiration include re-imagined menus featuring more authentic regional flavours and local wines; dramatically transformed public spaces; refurbished restaurants and lounges featuring fresh furniture, lighting and ocean-inspired colour palettes; and brand-new staterooms and suites.

All accommodation on board Insignia, Regatta and Sirena have emerged with new bathrooms, closets, desks and vanities, sofas, chairs and tables, lighting and mirrors, upholstery, carpets and drapes, and state-of-the-art technology including interactive TV systems and USB ports.

Regatta’s stunning re-inspiration will be followed by Nautica in June 2020 – the last of the R-Class fleet to be refurbished. Already renowned for being cruising’s destination specialists, delivering The Finest Cuisine at Sea™ onboard a fleet of intimate and luxurious ships, the OceaniaNEXT programme has been designed to provide new and repeat guests with even more reasons to discover the world the way they have always dreamed with Oceania Cruises.

“It is a very exciting time to be introducing the new-look Regatta to our market. We have had an incredible year full of exciting initiatives as part of OceaniaNEXT, including the announcement of Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, which will debut on board Regatta while she is in Sydney for the second time on 6th January 2020. It’s these kind of enhancements to the guest experience that see Oceania have one of the highest-repeat cruising rates of any line,” said Senior Vice President and Managing Director Asia Pacific of Oceania Cruises, Mr Steve Odell.

“We are lucky to be one of the first regions in the world to experience the re-inspiration of Regatta, which boasts 342 brand-new designer suites and staterooms, and stunning new décor in her restaurants, lounges and bars inspired by Oceania’s 450 ports of call,” continued Mr Odell.

“The re-imagination of these four stunning vessels is just the beginning,” explained Mr Odell. “We have many surprises and delights to reveal in 2020 and beyond as part of the OceaniaNEXT initiative, which we cannot wait to unveil.”

During her 2019/20 season, Regatta will embark upon a series of scenic Australasian voyages, including the 15-day Reefs to Romance itinerary departing Sydney on 6 December, visiting Airlie Beach, Alotau and Bali, and the 14-day Outrageous Outback itinerary departing Sydney on 6 January where she’ll call on Eden, Milford Sound and Auckland. February 2020 sees Regatta heading to the South Pacific for some immersive island itineraries before repositioning to Alaska for the 2020 season.
