Transdev Australasia today announced Alan Fedda as the new Managing Director of its Sydney Ferries operation.Mr Fedda will join Transdev Sydney Ferries from Public Transport Victoria (PTV), where he has worked in senior leadership for the past seven years, most recently as the organisation’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Before joining PTV, Mr Fedda held leadership roles in the energy retail, telecommunications, media, community services, and financial services industries.

Transdev Australasia’s CEO Luke Agati congratulated Mr Fedda on the appointment.
“Alan is one of the most respected leaders in our industry, and he brings a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver great journeys for customers,” Mr Agati said.

Mr Fedda said he is looking forward to joining Transdev.

“Sydney Ferries is one of the most iconic transport networks in the world, and it’s a great privilege to come back home to Sydney to be a part of that, and to work on making ferry services even better for Sydneysiders in the years ahead,” he said.

Alan Fedda will join Transdev in September, after relocating back home to Sydney from Melbourne.
Current Managing Director Martin Kearney, who previously accepted a new position as Chief Officer Train and Ferry Operations overseeing all of Transdev’s train and ferry businesses in Australia and New Zealand, will now transition into this role full time.

Transdev Sydney Ferries (formerly known as Harbour City Ferries) has operated the iconic Sydney Ferries as well as Balmain Shipyard since 2012.

The company’s 583 employees help 15.3 million customers move on the water each year.

In February, Transdev was awarded a new contract to operate and maintain Sydney Ferries on behalf of the NSW Government until 2028.
