TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site, with 456 million people visiting the site each month.TripAdvisor offers advice from millions of travellers – people who have actually experienced the destination – and is a powerful travel planning tool, with three out of five consumers turning to TripAdvisor before they commit to an online booking.

So how can tourism operators take advantage of this immensely powerful platform including the most recent updates that have resulted in a transformation of the user experience on the global platform?

All will be revealed when Alanna Green, TripAdvisor’s Destination Marketing Sales Executive for Australia and New Zealand, joins digital training specialists Tourism Tribe for a hands-on, live session.

The session will cover how TripAdvisor is changing its platform for travellers, businesses and destinations, including an explanation of the new ‘Trips’ and ‘Travel Feed’ features.

Tourism Tribe CEO Liz Ward said the live session would be an overview of the latest, and also the upcoming, changes being implemented by TripAdvisor to enhance the user experience.

“Trip Advisor is an internationally recognised brand, with its platform widely used by travellers to inform themselves when building their travel itinerary, which offers opportunities for tourism businesses and destinations,” she said.
“It’s important for tourism operators to have a sound understanding of how this platform functions and this session will cover how the platform is changing and the impact for destinations, as well as an outline of the new ‘Trips’ feature and an introduction to the ‘Travel Feed’ and TripAdvisor Social.

“The fact that we are being joined by TripAdvisor’s Destination Marketing Sales Executive for Australia and New Zealand, Alanna Green, is very exciting and a unique opportunity for tourism operators to hear the latest, directly from the source.

“Alanna’s role with TripAdvisor involves working directly with destinations on making the best and most informative content available to their global audience and she is well qualified to help operators take advantage of these opportunities.”

The TripAdvisor Spotlight session will include a live 45-minute workshop followed by a 15-minute Q&A session, and will take place on Wednesday, February 20, from 11am to 12pm AEST.

It is free for Tourism Tribe members, or AU$22 fonon-members.
