Utilise the downtime to up-skill, connect with their industry colleagues to stay motivated and prepare their product for the new normal is what Tourism businesses should be focusing on instead of watching Netflix during the Lockdown.

Whilst no industries will escape the devastating impact of the Corona virus, the 279,000 businesses & 1 million people that make up the tourism industry in Australia are fighting battles they had never imagined.

“My life has turned upside down”, shares Karen Cross, an operator from the Gold Coast. “I never once imagined I’d be instructing my bank to get their act together and upgrade their eftpos software so that it would let me  process refunds of over $50,000 for an unlimited amount of time”.

Everyone understands why travel bans and shut downs must occur but what tourism operators are trying to reconcile is how they are going to survive this unprecedented downturn, what they should be doing now to maintain customer relations and rebuild for an uncertain future.

Tourism Tribe’s CEO and co-founder Liz Ward says “being proactive about their business improvement and upskilling themselves and their staff will not only prepare them for the return to market, but it will also support better mental health in a very stressful period of their lives”.

Tourism Tribe has been delivering digital marketing training workshops and coaching to operators via online classrooms since they opened their virtual doors to tourism operators in some of the most remote and beautiful locations in 2015.  They know what makes tourism operators tick and they know what operators need to do right now to use their time productively.

The Tourism Tribe community of thousands of tourism businesses have today been invited to participate in a 12-week intensive digital marketing program aimed at keeping them motivated, connected to their industry colleagues and upgrading their marketing and digital assets so they can return stronger than ever.

  • The program is ready now and starts next week for 12 weeks
  • It is web based yet personal, with much needed technical sessions where operators can get their online presence fixed by Tourism Tribe’s team taking control of their website
  • The first session will teach operators how to secure and protect their business against increasing digital scams & working smartly and managing teams from a remote offices, kitchen tables and lounge rooms…

Tourism Tribe are world leaders in tourism training having been awarded in the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and the Queensland Tourism Industry innovation awards.
