Northern Territory cruise decision impacts on all but one Coral Expeditions ship.

March 31, 2021 Cruise News, Headline News No Comments Email Email

Coral Expeditions has revealed that only one of its ships Coral Discoverer will have no itinerary changes, as she falls under what are considered by the cruise sector to be the highly arbitrary and uninformed capacity numbers imposed by the Northern Territory Government and CLICK HERE to view the details.

Coral Discoverer has a capacity of only 72 guests and 23 crew, therefore coming under the 100 guest and crew included limit imposed the Northern Territory Government allowing Coral Discoverer sail her Kimberley and Cape York between Broome and Darwin season as scheduled.

Other Coral Expeditions vessels do not qualify though and therefore will not be operating from Darwin this season, with the company having already changed the embarkation and disembarkation ports to Broome with a resulting massive financial and economic loss to Darwin and the Northern Territory.

Coral Expeditions advise that previously published embarkation and disembarkation dates remain the same, with optional charter flights to connect guests between Darwin and Broome at a cost of $300 and with all itineraries to be delivered as booked.

In the meantime, Coral Expeditions says that it will continue to engage in discussions with the Northern Territory Government to overcome these issues and new regulations, commenting that as soon as they can, they will return to their usual scheduling pattern.
