Set on the picturesque foreshore of Lake Jindabyne and just 30 minutes’ drive from great days skiing at the Thredbo and Perisher ski fields, NRMA Jindabyne Holiday Park offers easy options for a spring ski getaway. And with new flexible booking terms now on offer, there’s no better time to book a getaway to the Snowy Mountains.

The NSW school holidays kick off on September 26, while a new limited release of lift passes has extended the ski season at Thredbo until October 4, and at Perisher until October 5*. A solid snow base from substantial falls in August promises a fun getaway for the whole family, with bluebird days and plenty of space for skiing or snowboarding the slopes.

Jindabyne is just five hours’ drive from Sydney and two hours from Canberra, making for an easy road trip around New South Wales.

NRMA’s Jindabyne Holiday Park is right in the centre of the action, with a swag of great onsite facilities free for guest use. There’s a ski tuning table, pizza oven and fire pits for gatherings with close family and friends. Jindabyne village and shops are a quick walk across the road from the Holiday Park and is a hub for supplies, from ski and snowboard shops to supermarkets and bakeries, restaurants and pubs. There’s also a heated indoor pool.

As the weather warms up a whole range of outdoor activities awaits, from alpine walks and mountain biking to fishing for trout in the mountains’ pristine rivers and streams. The Park’s own boat ramp and dedicated mountain bike station bring adventures right to the doorstep.

Jindabyne Brewing serves flights of its craft beer and share plates overlooking the lake, while a short drive south to Crackenback reveals the Wild Brumby Distillery, famous for its local gin and ‘only-in-the-mountains’ butterscotch schnapps.

The Park has a great range of affordable accommodation with something for everyone. Two-bedroom villas overlook Lake Jindabyne that sleep families and friends in groups up to six, one-bedroom deluxe cabins that sleep up to five and eight new studios perfect for  couples and solo travellers. All villas and cabins are air-conditioned and feature a kitchenette, lounge and ensuite bathroom, with parking right outside.

For campers and caravanners, a series of powered and unpowered sites overlooking the lake cater for up to six people and are close to amenities including a fully equipped camp kitchen. Each site has space for a car, making the Holiday Park an easy option for road trippers.

NRMA Jindabyne Holiday Park Managers Fred and Kirrily Holz said a spring break to the Snowy Mountains was easy and accessible, and a great break for those who were keen to get out and explore.

“There are loads of adventures to be had here in the mountains and this spring is a perfect time to get out and about and experience what you’ve been missing,” they said.

One of the most trusted brands in Australia, NRMA’s 32 holiday parks and resorts are located in some of the country’s most incredible natural destinations spanning Tropical North Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania each offering unforgettable experiences for guests. Many of the parks also welcome pets, making family holidays even easier, and all have recently introduced more flexible booking conditions and COVID-19 operational measures to ensure the health and safety of guests.
