Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has received a Four Star rating in the Major Airline category; the award, presented recently by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) at their Passenger Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, was given to less than 10 per cent of the world’s airlines.

This recognition reflects that everyone who works for Oman Air is focused on delivering world-class service to our guests, said Oman Air CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi.

“From our cabin crew to our pilots and everyone on the ground, there is a commitment to set industry-leading standards”, he said. “We’re proud to accept this award on behalf of everyone who works for Oman Air; our people created this success as the airline grows in size and stature”.

To determine the award winners, flights were rated by passengers across nearly 600 airlines from around the world between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019. Airlines are ranked in Global, Major and Regional categories, based on their size. The ratings were independently certified by a professional external auditing company.

“The Official Airline Ratings were designed by APEX, as one of the largest international airline associations in the world, to enable every air traveller that desired to rate airlines in a 100% verified, validated, and certified manner”, APEX CEO Dr. Joe Leader said: “More than 1.4 million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 600 airlines from around the world. Only a small, single-digit percentage of these airlines reached the prestigious APEX Four Star Airline status. All of us at APEX take extraordinary pride in giving full power to airline passengers as the ultimate source of validated truth in airline ratings worldwide.”

Oman Air’s award was presented at a ceremony held during APEX Expo, which attracts more than 5000 industry professionals, including representatives from more than 125 airlines, and showcases the airline industry’s most comprehensive display of airline related technologies, products and services.
