Oobah Butler, aka Georgio Peviani, is globally recognised as the man who turned a non-existent restaurant, The Shed, into the No. 1 rated dining establishment in London through social manipulation.http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/

It has been confirmed today that he will be making a special trip to Australia to be the keynote speaker at Australia’s leading and most established ecommerce event, 2019 Online Retailer Conference & Expo, this July (24th and 25th), at the ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre, Darling Drive, Sydney.

In an era increasingly influenced by a climate of online misinformation, Oobah’s stunt showed how easily consumers are fooled. However, Oobah is not just a ‘prankster’ or a ‘bullsh*t artist’, he is a social engineer.

Through his presentation, visitors will learn how Oobah pushes the limits of implausibility to manipulate online platforms and create unthinkable results. Patrons will walk away with an in-depth understanding of consumer behaviour, social influencer and engineering, fake news and the human psyche, and will learn how to create their own improbable results. Anyone can benefit from his learnings, as he teaches audiences to cut through the bullsh*t of social influence manipulation.

At the Conference & Expo, visitors will also be exposed to cutting-edge ecommerce insights, the latest trends, tech innovation and retail solutions. In 2018, the event saw over 2,500+ attendees, with a 15% increase in conference attendees from the previous year.

Whilst the 2018 event placed a large focus on disruption and preparing for emerging trends, this year the event is changing direction. Acknowledging that the ‘future of retail is here’, attendees will have the opportunity to focus on the practical components of retail that are shaping the new norm of consumer interactions.

The two day must-attend conference on the retailing expertise calendar provides an opportunity for every retailer to hear from key players in the industry and to address the most relevant areas of retail in one forum. Covering everything in the customer life cycle from data driven marketing, CX, unified commerce and tech adoption to fulfilment, last mile delivery, and environmental sustainability.

Online Retailer Event Director, Matt Smith says, “Online Retailer 2019 is the number one place for retailers to connect with peers and draw inspiration from some of the greatest learning stories this region has to offer.”

He adds, “We’ve identified the biggest pain points for retailers, including capturing data and using it to map out customer behaviour, enhancing experiences, automating processes and adopting technology. The content places a heavy focus on these areas to ensure retailers are educated and can formulate the best strategy.”

In its biggest year yet, the Online Retailer Exhibition (free to attend for retailers) will see guests discover the solutions to their biggest business problems with 140+ solution providers. Some of the exhibitors include Catch.com.au, Shippit and CouriersPlease. Visitors will immerse themselves in unlimited tech, trends, innovation and networking – all for free. In addition, attendees can join the morning conference keynote sessions, and will hear from leading brands such as Walmart, Australia Post and Salesforce. All other sessions will be open for conference ticket holders.

Attendees of the event will also enjoy:
