Spread the love

PREMIER beachfront resort brand, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts, have announced the launch of #OutriggerCARES – a global platform to provide support for its internal team as well as offer resources and aid to the communities in which the brand operates.

The launch kicked off with the release of the OutriggerCARES  (check it out) video, showcasing teams from across the Outrigger properties. It was created to remind people that when the world is ready to start travelling again, Outrigger will be ready and waiting to welcome them to their island homes.

There are a number of elements to this new initiative said Australian-based VP of sales and marketing Asia Pacific Andrew Gee, all of which stem from The Outrigger Way, an ethos and company mission that captures the tradition of hospitality, mutual respect and CARE for guest, host and place, while focusing on the company’s belief that relationships should be formed with unwavering trust and pride.

Gee added, “These practices have become even more relevant today as the world navigates what it means to remain close while practicing social distancing. Like all businesses in our industry it is a challenging time to say the least and we need to band together and think outside the box- if people can’t come to Outrigger, how we can bring Outrigger to people”.

“Although this is not a time for selling, it is a time when agents, past and potential guests need to see messages of hope, resilience and unity.”

Whilst the majority of properties may not be operating in the traditional sense, teams are contributing the best they can during these unprecedented times. At Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort the word “hui” – which means team, partnership, unity – was illuminated on the building to show the collective resilience and love that we have for each other – as well as our guests, our partners, first responders and medical professionals.

In Thailand staff at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort made a much-needed donation of personal protective equipment to the newly established Phuket field hospital to care for COVID-19 patients. While at Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort, team members volunteered to spend their mornings cleaning and removing rubbish from the vacant block of land adjacent to the resort – this not only made the location look beautiful, but helped prevent the trash from making its way back into the ocean.

Further components of the initiative will be circulated over the coming weeks including virtual backgrounds, famous Outrigger tropical cocktail recipes, nightly live music and live catch ups with in-house surfers through the Surfer-in-Residence program.
